We love the designer Sybil Zelker and under the brand name Polly Peck, made great quality fashionable clothes. This is a really wearable example from the late 1960s. It is comprised of a black velvet bustier with central ornamental gold metal button stand. The sleeves are a sheer georgette fabric in a balloon style with elasticated cuffs. The elastic is, remarkably, still as good as the day it was made. The best feature of the dress however has to be the fantastic velvet and gold printed skirt featuring vertical rows of square and diamond shaped motifs. The black velvet has been over-printed with this gold giving the gold colour an almost burnished feel. The dress is not unlined and fastens to the rear with the original concealed zip. It is in absolutely beautiful, barely worn condition. Everything about it is super fresh looking and there are no issues of any note. No size label remains though one advises the dress to be dry cleaned. Best suited for up to size UK 10, US 6.
